…the story continues

Haringey Children and Families Service and our partners have "achieved significant and sustained improved in Safeguarding in the borough since 2009" and "the capacity for improvement is good". This was the verdict of the Ofsted inspectors, following their announced inspection of Safeguarding and Looked After Services in January 2011. You can read more about what Ofsted had to say here. In short, our service is now recognised has being safe and sound. Of course, the hard work continues and we have a lot still to do. Haringey is a challenging borough in which to work and will never be an easy option. We need to build on what is now a stable workforce and attract talented and experienced professionals who welcome that challenge and believe in what they do.

The fact that we have improved so much and have this capacity to further improve is testament to the hard work, dedication and professionalism of existing staff – it is the most fantastic team effort that has brought us this far. By continuing with that effort with even more determination, we shall continue our journey towards excellence, with the goal of becoming one of the best children’s services in the country.
